My PVG was delayed a little bit, so my first day in school wasn’t until September 14th. So far, it has been such a welcoming experience. Everyone at my school is so friendly and lovely, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the class and settling in.
I really wanted to get some hands-on teaching experience while I’m here, so my partner teacher has me taking over part of their climate unit and basically turning it into all things Canada, which has been super fun. I’m in a P4 class, which is equivalent to about Grade 3 in Canada. For one of my lessons, we’re going to make our own snowstorms in a cup as a little science experiment, which I’m pretty excited for!
Outside of school, I’ve been trying to fit in as much exploring as possible. We’ve done some day trips to Largs and the Isle of Great Cumbrae, where we rented bikes and biked around the island. We also did the Devil’s Pulpit and Conic Hill, which we rented a car for that day, and I drove on the left side of the road for the first time. That was definitely an experience, but honestly, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be!
I also popped over to Mallorca with some of the girls from the German cohort, which was absolutely beautiful. A million times recommend!!!
