Over the past couple of weeks, we have been visiting schools and teaching lessons in English in Goiania, Brazil. Upon arriving at the schools, I felt very welcomed by the staff and the students. We had the opportunity to tour three different public schools and a private school. The schools were different. For example, one of the public schools had proficient English speakers, average class sizes, and a lot of resources compared to the other two public schools. We later found out this is because the school is federally funded and most students attend the school based on nepotism. Thus far, all the students that we have met and have gotten the chance to instruct to have been very curious about us and excited for us to teach them.

First Impressions- Brazil
I arrived in Goiania about two weeks ago and have really enjoyed how welcoming and friendly the people are. It is, however, very very hot and I am still adjusting to this. Last week we went to visit a town called Pirenapolis that has over 50 waterfalls (I believe). It was beautiful and we attended the local music festival that had a lot of big artists from Brazil. I am slowly adjusting and hoping to learn more Portuguese along the way!
