Volunteering and a School Break!

I wasable to volunteer on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 and it was really fun~ I was assigned to volunteer in a P2 classroom which includes students ages 5-6 which was so fun! During the day I assisted the teacher with completing the compiling pages of student artwork by grades in a book as a retirement gift for one of their school administrators. For most of the day I worked with small groups helping them with reading, math and gym class and it was both fun and a little tiring. I had assumed that they would have questions about Canada but while they didn’t, they were a really fun group of students all with unique and funny personalities. One thing I was glad to see was the teaching of phonics, which I’m still not feeling confident about teaching myself, it did help familiarize myself with learning phonics and just how valuable phonics is for learning how to read, write, and more! I am looking forward to volunteering there for two more days!

The reason it will only be two more days is because this week has been school holidays so I took a trip to Ireland and it was so much fun! I got to tour a couple of UNESCO world heritage sites which were amazing! Unfortunately near the end of the trip I got sick and so I didn’t enjoy as much of Galway as I wanted to but I still had lots of fun.

With only a week left I am quite busy, but excited to enjoy the rest of my time in Scotland as possible, volunteer a little bit more and complete the courses before going home!

One more update to go!
